Leukaemia site tests to start

TESTS are to begin soon on land on a Leftwich estate where two toddlers died of a rare form of leukaemia.

Environmental experts RSK ENSR Ltd, chosen by residents, will undertake tests on land at Muir Group Housing Association Scheme in Leftwich.

The investigation was started after the deaths of Sharon Pymer and Rebecca Watts.

John Watts, of Muirfield Close, said: "We are both relieved that they are starting.

"I believe there will be around five bore holes drilled and gas monitoring among other tests.

"They are going to do my garden and the garden of Sharon's house."

Work will begin in earnest in two to four weeks.
