Tim Burgess
The Charlatans frontman was born in Northwich and found fame with the band as part of the Madchester scene in the early 1990s. Their first hit was 'The Only One I Know' and they had continued chart success throughout the Britpop era of the late 1990s, with hits including 'North Country Boy'. Adam Ricketts
The former Coronation Street star was born in Crewe in May 1978 and grew up in Northwich. After a brief career as an catalogue underwear model, Adam landed the role of Nick Tilsley in the popular soap. Taking a break from acting he released the single Breathe Again but soon returned to the Street and also treaded the boards in successful play Rent.
Pete Waterman
Pete Waterman, the man behind a host of hit records for a wide variety of different artists and one of the judges on the phenomenally successful TV show, Pop Idol, has a home a few miles from Northwich. His residence is in Little Leigh, although these days the busy record producer spends much of his time in London. He was behind hits for Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Steps and 80s artists like Rick Astley, Jason Donovan, Banarama and Mel and Kim.
